Europcar Delivery

 

Europcar now delivers to your door. Europcar is an international car rental company that offers a brand new service. They say that they deliver their costumer the car they have hired right to their door within one hour after they have ordered online or by phone. To build a campaign around this insight we thought to compare it to a takeaway service that is also delivering very fast their product. For this we created a poster range, a  25 second TV spot, a new homepage and smartphone app to order online and to see how fast Europcar delivers. We also created a direct mail campaign to show how fast Europcar really delivers their cars all over the UK. All three posters have the same massage. Europcar delivers faster than your local takeaway. To clarify this, every single poster shows different fast food packaging. One is showing a pizza box, another a fish & chips box and the last one is showing a soft drink cup. All packagings contain car keys which the beholder can see. This should illustrate that Europcar delivers as fast as the local takeaway if not even faster. This new service saves the costumer time and endeavours.

The idea for the TV spot is to show that Europcar delivers faster than you can imagine. The spot shows an elderly married couple sitting on a sofa in their living-room drinking a cup of tea. The husband has just called Europcar and hired a car which will be delivered right to their door. Because he booked the „we deliver“ service. After a few seconds a steering wheel drops from above direct into the mans hands. Then the whole car starts to build up around them in their living-room. Just seconds later they are sitting in the hired car, driving out of their living-room. The claim appears behind the car which is gone. „Faster delivery than your local takeaway.“ Then the spot ends with contact details of Europcar and an open pizza box which contains a car key to get the feeling of a very fast delivery like takeaways do.

 

 

The direct mail comes in the shape of a little pizza box that is completely branded by Europcar. If the person who received the box will open it, the first thing he recognizes is a car key and the claim. „Faster delivery than your local takeaway.“ When the person graps the car key and is pulling it out, a little list of cars that are available folds out. The clue is that the cars don‘t just have their ordinary names. They have names like Pepperoni Golf or Focus Speciale. These names are important because they are the promotional quote to hire a car cheaper than normal.

We start improving the web layout and made it clear and more simple to use. The user is  now able to choose a car directly from the car pool by flipping the pictures of every single car. Underneath the pictures are some details of the chosen car. If a user likes an offer he just has to click on  the „order online now“ and the car is coming to the costumers door within one hour. This is as easy as ordering a pizza. Now it is even possible to order a car with a smartphone using the new Europcar app. The particular solution for this app is that the costumer can see how long it will take until his hired car is approaching.
